about

The third full length record from this long running Bay Area BM institution has finally arrived. Palace of Worms has always been the sole work of multi-instrumentalist Balan (Botanist, Ordo Obsidium). The Ladder finds him moving away from the classic West Coast black metal sound of the project’s origins and embracing instead a powerful new amalgamation of blackened gallop, muscular mid-tempo stomp, and death rock influenced ambience. The Ladder is a post-subgenre call to arms, similar to the recent output of Tombs.
